Disability

Music therapy can help to support goals in communication, sensory regulation and social skills. Sessions are tailored to your needs and can be aligned with other therapy goals such as speech therapy, physical rehabilitation and special education needs.

Our mental health is the cornerstone of our lives. Research suggests that the use of therapeutic songwriting, can help us to express our needs and emotions more clearly. Working with a music therapist can facilitate this approach in a safe and collaborative space.

Mental Health

Stimulating our musical memories can help us access our life stories both past and present. With the support of a music therapist using music ‘conversations’, persons living with dementia can be given the opportunity to connect more positively with their carers and families. This is also beneficial to quality of life and encourages an enhanced sense of person-hood.

Live-Music Access

Live music is good for you! Studies show that engaging in live music experiences can increase positive social connections with peers, reduce isolation and support our sense of identity by sharing common interests with others. Live music should be available to everyone. Social and structural barriers can decrease these opportunities for some. If you or a person you care for needs support and planning to access live music events, then get in touch.
